Perhaps the most beautiful northern lights I have had the privilege to witness, this was the aurora borealis display on April 1, 2022 as seen in the wee hours over Kootenay Lake, British Columbia, Canada. Clouds had covered the skies for much of the evening but when they finally blew away...oh my! An unusually colorful event, this particular sighting was highlighted by the vibrant violet purples that dictated what is normally greenish in color.
